- The Federal Trade Commission provides these dispute letter templates on FTC.gov at no cost.
- The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau offers the same resources at CFPB.gov at no cost.
But credit repair companies will charge you over $100/month for using these publicly available letters.
It’s madness!
Over the last several years, credit reporting complaints to the CFPB have soared, nearly doubling from about 600,000 in 2022 to over 1 million in 2023.
According to Bridgeforce Data Solutions, from the beginning of 2025, there has been a substantial year-over-year rise and a continued high volume of complaints, an increase of 66.6%.
This shows INCREASING consumer frustration with credit reporting accuracy and dispute processes – the entire process is rigged against us.
As of July 2025, approximately 36.8 million Americans have a FICO Score categorized as “Poor” (ranging from 300 to 579).
That’s a lot of people!
